                         Innsbruck                    14, 15, 16 September
We were in Innsbruck for three nights after a long, but interesting, train ride from Amsterdam.  It is a beautiful Austrian city right at the foot of the very steep Mount Seegrube.

View from the city tower overlooking the main square and the fifteenth century  building with the golden roof. Maximilian 1 watched tournaments in the square from this royal box.

Inside the very Baroque cathedral, St Jokob -  very Austrian.

The street sign of our hotel.

Inside the Hofkirche we saw some of the 28 Renaissance sculptures guarding the tomb of Maximilian 1.

A door at  the Tyrolean Museum of Popular Art in on old Franciscan monastry.

Traditional Austrian chairs.

Bill and Dan - it's hard work, but someone has to do it!

View of the banks of the Inn River.

Space age cable car station part way up Mount Seegrube.

At the top.

The view over Innsbruck.

Spectacular mountains!

The cable car going down.

We left Innsbruck and travelled by train to Bolzano via the Brenner Pass.
