A typical peninsula cove |
Driving around the very beautiful Dingle Peninsula was a great day trip. It is only about 40km around but it took us about 4 hours. This area was where they filmed Ryan’s Daughter - in fact before the film, the area was largely undiscovered by tourists. Poor David has had to do all the driving as he is the only name on the hire car. He is multitalented and usually doubles as the chef as well.
Jenny and David going for a swim in the icy sea while we watched on with admiration and disbelief.
Ancient beehive stone huts are an amazing construction.
Set on 26 acres, Bunratty Folk Park features over 30 buildings in a ‘living’ village and rural setting. Rural farmhouses, village shops and streets are recreated and furnished according to their social standing, from the poorest one roomed dwelling to Bunratty House an example of a Georgian residence built 1804 for the last family to occupy Bunratty Castle.
