We had a week in Washington and wished we had two. There is so much to see. It's like Canberra only magnified. Weather wise, it was mostly very hot and humid.

This is the street (7th SE) our apartment was in. It was ery conveniently located near the Eastern Markets and the Metro. We could walk into the Mall (monuments and The Smithsonian etc area), but mainly we took the Metro, because we were on our feet all day. |

Bill in front of our place. We had the top floor and it was just perfect .

The Smithsonian Castle. This was the original Smithsonian building. It is home to the Smithsonian Information Center, the administrative headquarters and the exhibition Smithsonian Institution: America’s Treasure Chest. The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum and research complex and includes 19 museums and galleries and the National Zoological Park. We managed to see about 7, so a long way to go.

Looks like you have had a great time. The museums look wonderful. You will get a shock when back in very cold (but sunny) Canberra. Love Judith and Chris xxxx
