Heading for Sa Pa via the Bac Ha markets

Heading for Sa Pa via the Bac Ha markets

Joy in the "luxury" train heading for an eight hour over night journey to Sa Pa in the mountains of Northern Vietnam.

Early moring breakfast after we arrived in Loa Chai.

We had a long stop at the Sunday Bac Ha markets.  Local Hill tribe people travel from all over to this fascinating place.  The majority come from the Flower H'momg Ethnic minority and this istheir colourful   costume.  Note the fighting rooster.

                                       Songbirds for sale.

                                             Bags anyone?

                             More bag sellers.

                           Sad chooks.

Teenagers have the same interests the world over.

Mother and bady select sugar cane.

These earings are part of the traditional costume.

            The buffalo sales.

             Meat.

                                                 Colourful craft stall.

                                  Outside the H'mong king's palace.
