Arches National Park

This  was our last park and we all thought it was probably our second favourite, the favourite being Bryce Canyon.  However they were all fabulous and amazingly and they were all quite different, as were the drives between the parks.  Debbie did a great job of organising it for us.  It all went perfectly.

There are over 200 arches at Arches National Park. These are formed as the different rock layers weather at different rates.

Here is the view taken from the two arches in the above photo.

The Three Gossips.

The Balancing Rock.

The North Window.

The park was surrounded by snow capped mountain peaks.

The Spectacles.

The Rainbow arch. We stood well clear of this one, as twenty years ago a sixty foot slab fell off.  Fortunately the tourists underneath heard it creaking and scampered to safety before the crash.

This is the iconic arch at Arches.
