Raleigh, North Carolina 13, 14 May

We drove to Raleigh so Bill could visit colleagues at North Carolina State University.  Raleigh turned out to be not too exciting.  May be it was partly because we had our first poor weather in nearly four weeks - it was overcast and showery.  Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina and is in a small area called The Research Triangle where there is supposed to be the highest concentration of researchers in USA.
On the way to Raleigh we went to the beach at Chesapeake Bay.

The houses are right on the beach - just like in the movies.

The North Carolina State Capital building in Raleigh.

Raleigh did have an excellent Museum of history.  This is a replica of the Wright Brother's plane which achieved the first powered flight, in a field in North Carolina.

"This is fun!"

Our bed and breakfast "Cameron House Inn" in a heritage listed house.
