We spent our last couple of days in Utah, having a great time at Cathy and Tim's home in Salt Lake City. Unfortunately Tim, who lectures in politics, was taking his students to Washington so we missed seeing him this time.
The view from Cathy and Tim’s home over Salt Lake city and, in the distance, the salt lake. |
Looking down their street to the mountains coated with snow. |
The Capital building in Salt Lake City. |
The Mormon Temple. Only fully paid up Mormons can go in here. |
The area of the Temple, the Tabernacle and so on was huge and surrounded by beautiful gardens. |
This is part of the main street which the church managed to buy so they could connect up their grounds. Not a popular move amongst the non Mormon community. |
Cathy, Debbie and Dan waiting to be seated for brunch at the Market Street Grill. |
Our waiter with her huge tray. This seems to be standard equipment in most restaurants and the waiters do a great job manipulating them. |
Bill can't wait to get started on these cinnamon buns. |
Brunch! |
This water fall is part of the large Mormon church owned shopping mall in the city. |
The brand new Natural History Museum. Very interesting for us after all the geological formations we had just travelled through. |
