A day trip to Florence

Our other day trip was by train was to Florence. For Jenny and David it was their first time, so they set off to explore the block blusterers.

Our main aim was to see the Bargello, a sculpture gallery, and we were not disappointed. Apart from being a gallery, it is also a wonderful palazzo to wander through.

In the courtyard.

Fishing Boy.

Michelangelo's David-Apollo.

Della Robbia, Madonna and Child with Angels.

Donatello's David, amazing!

Lorenzo Ghiberti, Sacrifice of Isaac, in bronze.

A wall display.

The ceilings were lovely.

Paintings were also on display - Madonna and Child triptych.

There was a ceramics collection.

A sculpture hallway.

Bill as Pinocchio - for Elliot to laugh at.

The old favourite , Michelangelo's David  on the Piazza Della Signoria.

Moses on the Piazza Signoria.

Medieval dancers do their thing in front of David.

The Ponte Vecchio.

The view down the Arno River from the Ponte Vecchio.

Inside the market. Hairy ham anyone?

Maybe some colourful pasta?
