More Milan

The fountain in front of the Sforza Castle, built during the late 14th Century, as a military fortress. Later it was the home of theSforza family and even housed their in-house-genius Leonado da Vinci.

It is a large complex.

The whole place had instillations of swallows of all colours.

One of the courtyards and more swallows.

Behind the castle is the 27 hectare Parko Sempione, with it's very own triumphal arch, Arco della Place. The crowds in front are having a free yoga class. Should have joined in.

The clock face on the castle gate.

Mmmmmm, marzipan at the markets.

Street art, a giant needle and thread.

We decided to take the lift to the roof of the Duomo.

It is a great view.

The clock on a nearby building.

Wonderful to be able to get up close and personal with the sculptures and gargoyles.

We took a look inside the La Scala Opera House and it’s museum.

A statue of Leonado in the Piazza La Scala.

On our last evening we had dinner, along with most of Milan, on the Grande Navigli - a very long canal. There were paddle board races on at the time.
