Here we are in Nice and we love it. As it is quite near the Italian border, it reminds us a bit of Italy. Certainly there are a lot of Italian restaurants. The Mediterranean coast line is spectacular.
Our apartment in Vieux Nice (old Nice) is small but lovely. It is quite a climb up the Castle Hill (Colline du Chateau) to get here.
One view from the balcony.
Same view at night.
We can just see the Mediterranean Sea .
The walkway up is called Escalier Menica Rondelly and this is he. He was a poet and composer in the local dialect.
Looking up to our balcony.

Preserved and candied fruit.
A corner of the Place Rossetti.
This building looks stunning.
More street scenes in Old Nice.
The large and colourful Cours Saleya has been Nice's main produce market since the Middle Ages.
At one end is is the home Henri Matisse lived in for 17 years.
The flower part of the market.
Note the Heirloom tomatoes.
Time for a drink at the Cafe les Ponchettes.
